Millington Fields

Millington Fields delivered two dozen new homes in Drury in partnership with Adra.

Located in a historic coal mining area, the site required technical  investigation to be carried out  and  solutions identified prior to development works commencing.

  • 2.09 acres

  • Residential development

  • 24 affordable homes

Enabling works started in December 2020 in accordance with the outline planning consent for the site. This included tree felling and pressure grouting to old mine workings

Reserved matters planning approval was received from Flintshire County Council in February 2021. Construction of the new homes began the same month. The final home at Millington Fields was completed in July 2022.

The development provides eight social rent homes, six rent to own homes, six market rent homes and four intermediate rent homes.

The scheme also includes 0.22 acres of public open space for residents to enjoy.

Adra director of development Daniel Parry said: “Various attempts to develop the site at Bank Lane had stalled over the years, meaning a delay in providing much needed housing in the Drury area. It was only when Castle Green Partnerships stepped in that we were able to progress the scheme. Their technical expert knowledge in preparing land in a coal mining area has proven invaluable. Although small in scale, the development has provided homes in a variety of tenures. Tenants and those renting to own are all benefiting from living in high quality, energy efficient homes through this partnership approach to delivering new homes.”
